Partnership with parents

Parents are greatly involved in our caring for their child, as we like them to spend a little time settling when they first come, and we work together to duplicate a routine here at our setting the same as at home, to keep continuity of care.

Parents are the child’s main carer, and are valued for their knowledge and information that they can pass on to us about their child, and keep us regularly updated with any changes along the way.

All information about every child is kept confidential, unless needed to be shared with other staff or professionals, for the care of the child’s needs or wellbeing.

All parents are able to see their child’s records and learning journal on request and an arranged time is agreed.

If a parent were to have a complaint then they would be asked to follow our complaints procedure in our ‘complaints policy’.

We also have a ‘departure policy’ for when a child leaves the setting.
