Just Like Home Afterschool Club is an extension of our childcare settings.

Most of our children and parents that have been with us since they were small wanted to continue with us when they started school. We didn’t want to compromise the small childminding setting at home and so have tried to create the same home from home feel at the local church hall, just around the corner at St Philips, New Church Road, Hove.

We pick up from some of the local schools and weather dependent we either walk or drive to the hall, on arrival the children are warmly greeted with a homemade snack and a drink. The setting is warm and homely with carpeted areas for reading or TV time, cupboards are full of board games and toys and most days there will be a fun activity organised by our team.

The children can choose to take part in whatever they would like to, they can choose to have some time on their own reading or completing homework or they can play with their friends from other schools.

We also have provision for older children which works incredibly well, finding interesting and fun childcare for children about to move to secondary school can be difficult. We have a few older children who interact brilliantly with the younger ones and enjoy every aspect of the afterschool club.

A hot home cooked meal is served at 5pm everyday, after this we have quieter activities and enjoy some winding down time ready for home by 6:30pm. The children are fed, happy and ready for quality time at home before bed.
